ParklandNews.com Classifieds Help

1. Do I have to register to post an ad?

No, you do not need to register to post an ad.

2. Do I have to pay to post an ad?

No, all posts are free. This includes both posting an ad and replying to an ad.

3. How do I post an ad?

Posting is easy. Simply follow the instructions below:

a. Click "Post Ad" at the top of all the pages.

b. Chose a category that best fits with your product or service.

c. Enter a title for the ad, price (if applicable), and description. You have the option of uploading your photos. You can use all the space that you want.

d. Then enter your email address and click the "Post Your Ad" button.

e. Finally, check your email (or SPAM filter) for a message. Note that you should receive the e-mail quickly, but we do know of instances where it took 30 minutes for the e-mail to be received. Click the "Post Confirmation" link in that email and your ad will automatically appear on the site.

4. Can I include a video with my ad?

Yes, but only if it is a YouTube video. However, YouTube changed their "embed" code and the new code will not work. When you go to YouTube to get the embed code for your video, there is a box you can check that will allow you to use the old embed code. You will need to use the old code for the video to appear on our website.

5. How can I include images in my ad?

When you are on the "Post Ad" or "Edit Ad" page, click the "Browse..." button which appears under the Images heading. Select a picture file from your computer hard disk and click "OK". The picture will then be uploaded and attached to your ad. You can add up to five pictures using the same process.

If you are trying to upload a picture and you see an image spinning and it will not stop, this means your photo is too large.

6. How can I edit, repost or delete my ad from the site?

If you are a registered user, you can edit or delete your ad from your manager. If you are not a registered user, find your "Posting Confirmation" email from ParklandNews.com Classifieds. This email will have links to edit, republish, or delete your ad.

7. How long do ads last on the site?

Ads are automatically removed from the site 60 days after being posted. You can always republish your ad with one click, which means you will not have to re-upload everything.

8. Do I have to provide my contact information in the ad itself?

That is up to you. If you do not want to provide your contact info on the ad, people can still respond to you by clicking the "Reply by Email" button found on the right side of your advertisement. Their e-mail will come to the address you provided when you created your classified ad.

9. Can I insert a link to my own website?

Yes, but it will not be clickable. The person viewing your ad can copy and paste the website address into their address bar to reach your site.
