MAC’s
Perryville Center to Sponsor Art Show
PERRYVILLE, Mo. — Mineral Area College’s Perryville Higher
Education Center will host a Spring Art Show from noon
to 5 p.m., Thursday, April 14. The show will be held in
the Doheny Museum at the center, located on 108 South
Progress Dr. in Perryville.
Sally Werner, director of the Perryville Higher Education
Center, said the final projects run the gamut from abstract/expressionism
to realism, figurative work to landscape. “In addition
to creating the pieces, the students are learning to mat
and frame their work for display,” she said.
“Students in MAC’s Drawing I and Painting I classes will
display their works of art. Many media will be displayed
– oil, acrylic, water color, ink, pencil and pastels.”
Liz Manns, art instructor, invites everyone to visit
with the students and view their art. “I’m very proud
of the students. I sincerely hope we have a large crowd,”
she said.
Admission is free and refreshments will be served at
this gallery show.
Art student Jennifer Meyer will be displaying work at
