MAC’s Perryville Center to Sponsor Art Show

PERRYVILLE, Mo. — Mineral Area College’s Perryville Higher Education Center will host a Spring Art Show from noon to 5 p.m., Thursday, April 14. The show will be held in the Doheny Museum at the center, located on 108 South Progress Dr. in Perryville.

Sally Werner, director of the Perryville Higher Education Center, said the final projects run the gamut from abstract/expressionism to realism, figurative work to landscape. “In addition to creating the pieces, the students are learning to mat and frame their work for display,” she said.

“Students in MAC’s Drawing I and Painting I classes will display their works of art. Many media will be displayed – oil, acrylic, water color, ink, pencil and pastels.”

Liz Manns, art instructor, invites everyone to visit with the students and view their art. “I’m very proud of the students. I sincerely hope we have a large crowd,” she said.

Admission is free and refreshments will be served at this gallery show.

Art student Jennifer Meyer will be displaying work at Mineral Area College’s Perryville Higher Education Center Spring Art Show, to be held from noon to 5 p.m., Thursday, April 14, 2011.
