Autopsy Report: Dan Peek Died of Fibrinous
Pericarditis July

A
preliminary autopsy report indicates that Dan Peek
died as a result of Fibrinous
Pericarditis, which is inflammation of the pericardium,
the sac covering the heart.
An autopsy was conducted
on July 26, 2011, by Dr. Russell Deidiker at Mineral
Area Regional Medical Center in Farmington, Missouri.
The results from standard toxicological and microscopic
studies will be included in the final post-mortem
report.
Peek, a founding member of the band America, was pronounced
dead at his residence in Farmington on Sunday, July 24,
2011 at 11:23 p.m. He was 60 years old.
