Woman Ejected in Highway 8 Crash

A Potosi woman was arrested for DWI after she was ejected
from a 2003 Chevy Cavalier on Highway 8, east of Oak Road
in Washington County.
According to the Missouri Highway Patrol, Kelsey L. Hayes,
19, of Potosi, was driving westbound on Highway 8 when
the vehicle went off the right side of the road and struck
a driveway.
The Cavalier then went airborne, returned to the ground
and overturned several times, ejecting Hayes. She was
not wearing a seat belt.
Hayes suffered serious injuries and was flown to Mercy
Hospital by Survival Flight.
She was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated.
